University Funding Audit -Opening Meeting 

The University of Embu welcomed a five-member delegation from the Universities Fund (UF) on Thursday, 17th September 2026, for a two-day audit exercise to review the University’s management of government-funded student support for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 financial years.

The delegation, led by the Principal Internal Auditor, Mr. Wycliffe Maranya, was received by the Ag. Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, Research and Extension, Prof. Paul Nthakanio, and the Chief Finance Officer, Mr. Lawrence Kamonjo.

The exercise will focus on verifying beneficiaries of the Government Scholarship Programme, reviewing the administration of student financial support, and identifying challenges faced by students in accessing government funding. The engagement will also provide an opportunity to address emerging concerns and enhance the efficiency and accessibility of financial assistance to eligible students.
