Matriculation Ceremony

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Daniel Mugendi, formally welcomed more than 4,800 first-year students to the University of Embu (UoEm) during the Matriculation Ceremony held on Friday, 4th September 2026, at the Graduation Pavilion.

The ceremony marked an important milestone in the students’ academic journey as they officially joined the University community. The new cohort comprises students who selected the University of Embu as their first-choice institution, reflecting the growing confidence and preference for the University as a destination for quality higher education.

The Vice-Chancellor was joined by members of the University Management, staff and invited guests, including representatives from the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB) and officials from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).

The HELB officials were on hand to guide and assist the newly admitted students with the loan application and processing procedures, while the engagement with KASNEB provided students with an opportunity to learn more about professional training and examination pathways.

In welcoming the students, the University leadership reaffirmed its commitment to providing an enabling environment that supports academic excellence, innovation, holistic development and student success. The University of Embu looks forward to nurturing the new cohort as they embark on their transformative academic journey.
