Interfaith Service

The University of Embu today, 10th September 2026, held its 2026 Interfaith Service, bringing together students, staff and members of the University community in a moment of prayer, thanksgiving and fellowship.

Held under the theme, “Walking in the Light of God: A Search for True Knowledge and Wisdom,” the service provided an opportunity for the University community to seek God’s guidance as the 2026/2027 Academic Year begins. The community also gave thanks for the achievements of the past academic year and dedicated the new academic year to God.

The Guest Preacher, Pastor Benjamin Mutugi, SDA President, Eastern Region, delivered the sermon, encouraging the University community to walk in God’s light and pursue knowledge guided by wisdom. His message emphasised the importance of integrity, responsibility, compassion and service, as well as the responsible application of knowledge.

The service further reaffirmed the University’s commitment to peace, respect, dialogue, tolerance and peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths. “The Interfaith Service is an important annual tradition at the University of Embu, where we come together as one community to give thanks to God, reflect on His blessings and seek His guidance as we begin a new Academic Year,” said the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Daniel Mugendi Njiru, Ph.D., EBS.
