Science Laboratories Hub- Ground breaking ceremony
The University of Embu, led by the Chair of the Council, Prof. Philip Kutima, together with the University Management under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Daniel Mugendi, presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the Science Laboratories Hub on Friday, 26th June 2026.
The proposed Science Laboratories Hub is a state-of-the-art complex comprising 47 teaching and research laboratories designed to serve both the University of Embu and the wider community. Upon completion, the facility is expected to significantly address the current capacity deficit in laboratory space while enhancing the University’s teaching, research, and innovation infrastructure.
The Science Hub will provide a conducive environment for effective practical learning, strengthen scientific research, and equip students with the skills and knowledge required to meet present and future academic and industry demands.
The project will be undertaken by Kamuti Building Contractors under the supervision of Habitech Consultants in collaboration with the University of Embu Estate Department, marking a major milestone in the University’s commitment to expanding world-class learning and research facilities.
