ODEL Module Development Workshop
The University of Embu’s Directorate of Open and Distance e-Learning (ODeL) successfully conducted a two-day Module Development Workshop for fully online academic programmes from 23rd to 24th July, 2026 at the Executive Auditorium. The workshop was officially opened by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Daniel Mugendi, who reaffirmed the University’s commitment to expanding access to quality, technology-driven higher education through innovative online learning.
The training brought together academic staff to strengthen their capacity in developing high-quality online learning modules aligned with best practices in digital education. The sessions were facilitated by Prof. Sammy Mutisya, an Instructional Designer and Module Development Expert from the Open University of Kenya, and Dr. Richard Musyoka, a Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) Expert, who equipped participants with practical skills in instructional design and effective development of online course content.
