MoU Launch between Ngagaka Water and Sanitation Company Limited & UoEm

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Daniel Mugendi, on Thursday, 10th September 2026, presided over the launch of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Embu and Ngagaka Water and Sanitation Company Limited (NGAWASCO), which was signed on 25th November 2025. The partnership seeks to strengthen collaboration between the two institutions in areas of mutual interest and enhance knowledge sharing, capacity building and community-oriented initiatives.

The NGAWASCO delegation was led by the Board Chairman, Mr. Henry K. Mbeca, and included the Managing Director, Mr. Cyrus Mugendi, and the Head of Finance, Ms. Agnes Murugi.

Ngagaka Water and Sanitation Company Limited (NGAWASCO) is a public water service provider wholly owned by the County Government of Embu and mandated to provide clean, reliable and affordable water and sanitation services. Incorporated in March 2011, the company operates under the Water Act, 2016, and is licensed through the Tana Water Works Development Agency (TWWDA).

It ‘s headquarters are located at Kianjokoma Market, NGAWASCO serves a designated area covering more than 80 square kilometres across parts of Embu East, Embu West and Embu North Sub-Counties, playing a vital role in providing essential water and sanitation services to the local communities.
