Flagging Off of the Staff and Student Choirs to the Kenya National Music and Drama Festivals

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Daniel Mugendi, on Monday, 3rd August 2026, presided over the flagging-off ceremony for the University of Embu Staff and Student Choirs as they departed for Kibabii University in Bungoma County to represent the University at the Kenya National Music and Drama Festivals.

The University of Embu is competing with an impressive repertoire of more than 60 entries across diverse categories, including Zilizopendwa, Set Piece, Gospel, Patriotic, Original Composition (English Solo Verse), Original Composition (Kiswahili), Group Performances, as well as Soprano, Tenor, and Alto Solo presentations. The University’s strong participation reflects its commitment to nurturing artistic talent, preserving cultural heritage, and promoting excellence in the performing arts.
