As you will find out, University of Embu is a truly inspiring place to be where you will be part of a community of enthusiastic, industrious, highly qualified and experienced staff and zealous scholars working together to achieve excellence and build successful careers in various disciplines to address both national and international challenges.

The University of Embu (UoEm) was established as a Constituent College of the University of Nairobi via a Legal Notice No. 65 of 17th June, 2011 by His Excellency the President.  EUC is the successor of the former Embu Agricultural Staff Training (EAST) College which started in 1947 as an agricultural training school and was later renamed Embu Institute of Agriculture in 1968.  In 1990, it was upgraded to be Embu Agricultural Staff Training (EAST) College.  The University is located about 4km from the Embu Town Centre along the Embu-Meru Road.

UoEm is mandated to play a leading role in the development and expansion of opportunities for higher education and training, research and support for innovative approaches for the development of humanity.  In the discharge of this mandate, the University upholds the following core values; Integrity, Professionalism, Teamwork, Innovativeness and Customer Focus.  The University remains committed to its vision of becoming a dynamic epicenter of excellence in training and research for service to humanity. In an endeavour towards the realization of this vision, UoEm has developed a strategic plan that outlines specific strategic directions by providing clear focus on defined priorities and the specific strategies to achieve them.

The University offers quality market-oriented undergraduate and postgraduate courses which are relevant, value-added and affordable in a convenient, stimulating and challenging learning environment.  Currently, the University has six schools; School of Agriculture, School of Law, School of Pure and Applied Sciences, School of Business and Economics, School of Education and Social Sciences and School of Nursing with the establishment of more schools underway.  The University has and continues expanding its collaborations and linkages with other national and international organizations in order to ensure that its graduates are abreast with the latest research findings, technologies and job market trends.  Further, the University continually reviews its curricula in order to ensure that they are in line with the global market needs. I believe that this website will effectively provide the necessary information and answer some of the questions you may wish to ask about UoEm, our academic programmes, our staff and other activities.
