The University of Embu hosted a delegation from the University of KwaZulu – Natal in South Africa on Friday, 29th July, 2022 The team was led by Prof. Stephen Mutula, the Dean and Head, School of Management, IT, and Governance. The delegation was received at the University of Embu by Dr. Kennedy N. Ocharo, Dean, School of Business and Economics, who represented the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Daniel Mugendi and the University Management.
The delegation included: Dean and Head, School of Accounting, Economics, and Finance, Prof. Mabutho Sibanda, Academic Leader, Research and Higher Degrees (SMIG), Dr. Bogani Qwabe, Graduate School of Business, Dr. Tony Ngwenya, Principal Administrative Officer (SMIG), Mrs. Yolanda Malaza and Administrator, Research and Higher Degrees (SMIG), Ms. Angela Pearce.
The objective of the visit was to explore possible areas of mutual cooperation between UoEm and the University of Kwazulu-Natal such as research collaborations, Staff and students’ exchange program, curriculum development, postgraduate supervision among others.
The team was coordinated by Dr. Zacharia Mburu, who graduated with Ph.D in Applied Mathematics from the University of KwaZulu – Natal. Dr. Mburu will be joining the University of Embu teaching staff as a lecturer in the School of Pure and Applied Sciences from September, 2022.
