University of Embu hosts the Embu Governor Swearing-in

The University of Embu on 25^th August, 2022 hosted the swearing-in ceremony of the 2^nd Governor of Embu County H.E. Hon. Cecily M. Mbarire and the Deputy Governor, H.E Hon. Justus Kinywa Mugo. The ceremony was presided over by the High Court Judge, Hon. Lady Justice Mary Kasango.   

The ceremony was filled with pomp and colour and was attended by all elected leaders of Embu County, among them Members of the National Assembly, the County Assembly, Senior County and National Government officials and distinguished members of the public. The University of Embu was represented by the Chair of Council, Dr Kennedy Okongo, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Daniel Mugendi and members of the University Management Board.

Speaking during the ceremony, Dr. Okongo congratulated H.E Hon Cecily Mutitu Mbarire for being elected the 2^nd Governor of Embu County. He thanked the Embu County Government for choosing the University to host the swearing-in event and pledged to work together for the betterment of the people of Embu county and the country at large. “As the University grows, with your support, we will continue to open up more avenues for greater socio-economic growth and impact in the community through the creation of more business opportunities, increased access to higher education and training opportunities as well as bringing education closer to the people.” Dr Okongo added.
