University of Embu commissions a Memorial Garden

As part of the events lined up to mark the World Day of Remembrance of Road Traffic Victims (#WDoR2022), the VC, University of Embu commissioned a Memorial Garden at the University on Monday, 21st November, 2022. The Memorial Garden will offer an opportunity for members of the University community who are touched or affected by road accidents to quietly reflect on the loss and impact of road accident fatalities and injuries on the victims and the community. It will also provide a serene environment for members to relax, spare a thought or a prayer for a colleague, a family member or a friend affected by road traffic accidents.

The Memorial Garden, which is located behind the University Learning Center (LC) next to Dam 3. will be a constant reminder to the University community of the need for every individual to observe and promote road safety by exercising caution on the road at all times so as to prevent road carnage.

The event was organised by the University Road Safety Committee (RSC) and attended by the members of University management, Senate, staff, Student leaders, students and   Officials from the National Transport and Safety Authority led by Regional Manager, Ms. Doris Sabaya, staff and students.
