Training on Integration of AI in Teaching & Learning and Grant Writing

The Directorate of Academic Quality Assurance held a training session on Wednesday, 28th May 2025, focusing on the Integration of Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Learning, as well as Grant Writing for Early-Career Researchers. The event was officially opened by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Research and Extension, Prof. Paul Njiru Nthakanio, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Daniel Mugendi.

Key topics covered included:

  • Artificial Intelligence in Educational Instruction
  • AI for Content Accessibility and Inclusive Learning
  • Use of Generative AI (GenAI) Tools in Pedagogy

Later in the program, Dr. Vincent Were, Associate Research Scientist at the African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), delivered a comprehensive session on Grant Writing for Early-Career Researchers.

Additionally, Dr. Julius Mugweru, Director of Research at UoEm, facilitated training on Research, Science, Technology, and Innovation. The training brought together postgraduate students and academic staff from various faculties, fostering a rich environment for knowledge exchange and capacity building.
