
The University of Embu, in partnership with the University of Michigan (UM) and North Carolina State University, officially launched a Collaborative Co-Teaching Programme on Friday, 17th April 2026. The visiting delegation was led by Prof. Martin Thuo of North Carolina State University, alongside Prof. Johan Foster, Prof. Michael Bortner, and Dr. Manza Atkinson. They were received by the Ag. Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, Research and Extension, Prof. Paul Njiru Nthakanio on behalf of the VC, Prof. Daniel Mugendi.
The collaboration seeks to strengthen institutional partnerships through key initiatives, including co-development and implementation of academic curricula, staff and student exchange programmes, joint research and grant acquisition, and provision of fellowships for University of Embu students. It also aims to support the equipping of laboratories and the establishment of resource-intensive academic programmes, among other areas of mutual interest.
