The University of Embu staff and students participated in the Embu-Town clean-up exercise organised by the Kenya Tenri Society on 25th May, 2024 to mark the HINOKISHIN DAY.
HINOKISHIN DAY is an annual Thanksgiving Day observed by followers of the Tenrikyo Mission, to show gratitude for good health and to give back to the community by promoting a clean environment. The theme for this year’s was ‘A Clean Embu Town is Our Responsibility.’
The exercise was flagged off by the Embu County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Health, Hon. Amb. Jamal Runyenje on behalf of the Embu County Governor, Hon. Cecily Mbarire. The event was attended by the Tenri Group Management team, the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Environment, Hon. Florence Musyoka, Chief Officer for Public Health Hon. Kaburia Yusuf.
Also in attendance were students and staff from Embu College, KMTC Embu, GlamourLand Beauty College, Embu Urban Primary, Kangaru School and the general public
