University of Embu Researchers; Dr. Faith Mueni Musyoka, Dr. Collins Asweto, Dr. Peter Kailemia and Dr. Nkanata Mburugu together with Dr. Jane Karimi of Mount Kenya University and Mr. Douglas Otieno of TINADA Youth Organization have won a grant of USD 37,069 to introduce a new transformative initiative. The project entitled “A Digital Intervention for the Prevention and Early Detection of Depression and Suicide among the Youth in Kenya” is jointly funded by the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS) and the National Research Fund (NRF), Kenya with the University of Embu as the grant recipient institution.
This project envisions a revolutionary approach to addressing the mental health challenges faced by the youth. This multidisciplinary project brings together expertise and dedication to address the pressing issue of mental health among the youth in Kenya.
