UoEm Signs MoU with Embu County Government on Health Sector Collaboration

The University of Embu signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Embu County Government- Department of Health on Tuesday, 10th June, 2025. The University was represented by Prof. Paul Njiru Nthakanio, Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academics, Research, and Extension, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Daniel Mugendi while Embu County Government was represented by the County Secretary, Hon. Army Ruria, and the County Executive Committee Member for Health Services, Hon. Runyenje Jamal.

The MoU establishes a collaborative framework that includes:

  • Digitalization of health operations
  • Placement of students for attachments, training, mentorship, and internship opportunities
  • Capacity building for both parties
  • Joint educational and community engagement initiatives
  • Collaboration in research and knowledge dissemination in areas of mutual interest
  • Exploration of other potential areas of cooperation

This partnership marks a significant step towards strengthening academic-industry linkages, enhancing public health service delivery, and building capacity through shared expertise and resources.
