6th EE4A Conference & Inaugural EFD-K Conference

The University of Embu is hosting the 6th Evidence in East Africa (EE4A) Biennial Conference alongside the inaugural Education Deans Forum – Kenya (EDF-K), running from Tuesday, 26th – Thursday, 28th August 2025.
Theme: “Re-imagining Education in Kenya: Reforming Teacher Education for Sustainable Development.”
The event brings together Deans of Education from public and private universities, education experts, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to explore how data, research, and real-world evidence can inform education policy, strengthen teacher education, and drive sustainable development for improved learning outcomes.
The Conference was opened by the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Hon. Julius Migos Ogamba, and graced by the Embu County Deputy Governor, Hon. Justus Kinyua, County leaders, key stakeholders from the Ministry of Education, the University of Embu Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Daniel Mugendi, members of management, CEOs of various organizations, and other distinguished guests.
Prof. Kwame Akyeampong, a Professor of International Education and Development at the Centre for International Education, University of Sussex, UK delivered the keynote presentation setting the tone for robust discussions on teacher education reform and sustainable development.
