The University of Embu plans to hold a Mathematics Contest and Capacity Building Workshop for Secondary School students. The workshop is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 15th March, 2025 at the University grounds as from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The theme of the workshop is “The Ultimate Mathematical Experience: Catalyzing Passion for Mathematics”.
I am, therefore, pleased to invite your School to participate in the Mathematics Contest and Capacity Building Workshop. We believe that this will be an excellent opportunity for the students to be exposed to national competitions, which focus on problem solving and higher-order thinking skills. In addition to the Mathematics Contest, the students will also receive a motivational and career talk, a tour of the University, and a sensitization on subject requirements for available University programmes.
Participating schools are required to identify a team of twenty (20) students; ten from Form 3 and ten from Form 4 to take part in the proposed contest. Should you wish to bring an additional team(s), a request can be made through 0110089905 or uoemmathscontest@embuni.ac.ke. The registration fee per team of ten (10) participating students will be KES. 2,500 only. The registration fee is payable through E-citizen payment platform as follows:
1. Go to Mpesa Paybill
2. Enter the E-citizen Business Number: 222222
3. Enter Account number: ECSU (Must be in Caps)
4. Enter amount and Mpesa PIN
Further, individual schools will be expected to cater for transport and lunch for their respective students.
