Prof. Paul Musili Wambua is the first Chancellor of the University of Embu. He is an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Nairobi. He is also the Associate Dean, University of Nairobi School of Law.
The Chancellor holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi; a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law; a Master of Laws degree from the University of London; a Master in Business Administration from the United States International University – Africa; and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law from Ghent University, Belgium under VLIR Fellowship. Programme. He was admitted as Advocate of the High Court of Kenya on 25th August, 1986.
A renowned scholar in Maritime Law, Prof. Wambua has presented scholarly papers at National, Regional and International Conferences. He has consulted for the Government of the Republic of Kenya (GoK), IGAD and African Union (AU). Prof. Wambua has published widely in the areas of Maritime Law, Piracy and Corporate Governance. He has also received several awards and fellowship.
Having served in key appointments in the Public Sector, he is passionate about community service for development. He takes part in philanthropic activities throughout the country such as raising school fee for needy students, church and community projects among others. He also believes that there is no end to learning and that the best teacher is the one who is willing to be a good student in his lifetime.
