The University of Embu has partnered with the National Commission for Science and Technology (NACOSTI) and the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-Biotech Applications (ISAAA) to host the Agri-Biotech Forum. 2017. The forum intends to engage academia in discussions surrounding the Agricultural Biotechnology, particularly the novel, albeit controversial issue of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs).
The forum themed Demystifying Agricultural Biotechnology Through Active Engagement of Academia is being convened by Prof. Eucharia Kenya (Ag. Deputy Vice-Chancellor in-charge of Planning, Administration and Finance) at University of Embu. The forum will present an opportunity for the University of Embu to be the hub of intellectual discourse on agricultural technologies. Furthermore, it will contribute towards the attainment of NACOSTI’s mandate of Promotion and Awareness Creation on Science, Technology and Innovation and ISAAA’s mandate of a knowledge sharing network and partnerships in the research and development.
